Hey, Wayside! This year's Salvation Army Canned Food Drive will kick off tomorrow, Oct 9th. Our goal is 10,000 cans! There will be incentives for classrooms that contribute the most items. The first incentive will be a school-wide PJ day when we collect 2000 items as a school!

Wayside's 5th Grade Classes went to BizTown in Tulsa this past Thursday. BizTown is a popular learning experience that combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. It allows students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. BizTown is sponsored by Junior Achievement.

Fellowship Wesleyan Church is offering a free meal at 1pm on Sunday, September 24.
The Salvation Army Shield club is an after school program for children ages 6-12.
Children are picked up by the Salvation Army TEAM and transported to the program. The Shield Club offers a variety of activities, sports, arts & crafts, games, leisure skills, & character development. With questions regarding the Shield Club, please contact the main office at (918)336-6454.

Wayside SRO Cpl. Samson and OHP Trooper Cordero can be found greeting students and parents most mornings as students enter the building. BPSD is very fortunate to have an SRO at all nine school sites, including Tri County Tech. Thank you very much BPSD and City of Bartlesville!

Gail Stone was the first WINNER of the Wayside Reserved Parking spot drawing! Her name was randomly drawn from all of the staff at Wayside. Ms. Stone will get to park in this spot for the rest of the month of August. Ms. Stone teaches 2nd grade at Wayside.
Some school bus routes are changing for 2023-2024. You can look up your address at https://ewa.edulogweb.com/bartlesvilleok1web/webquery/ to see your routes. More information is at bpsbus.com.
If you live outside of the city limits and do not find a nearby stop, call the BPSD Transportation Department at 918-336-1733.
Special needs bus routes are still being worked on, and the Transportation Dept. will call those parents when they are finalized.

Due to construction, and for Safety and Efficiency reasons, Wayside will be adjusting our Drop-Off and Pick-Up Lines for the 23-24 School Year.

Wayside will be hosting two Parent Information Meetings about these new procedures. The two meetings will cover the same material. Parents with questions are invited to attend one of the meetings if they need clarification regarding the new Drop-Off and Pick-Up line procedures.
The meetings will take place on Thursday, July 27th at 6:30 PM and then again on Thursday, August 3rd at 6:30 PM. Both meetings will be held in the Wayside Gymnasium. Patrons choosing to attend can enter through the outside gym doors.
Starting August 10th, we are asking patrons NOT to park on either side of Jefferson Street between the school and the new staff parking lot (south of the school) during Drop-Off or Pick-Up times (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM).
We also want to inform everyone in advance that the sidewalk which connects Stonewall Drive to the Wayside campus will NOT be accessible during the 23-24 school year.
